Frequency is a specialist project management and advisory consultancy that delivers and optimises critical infrastructure and built environments across New Zealand.

The role

The Frequency Graduate Programme will lay the foundation for your professional and personal growth, giving you experience across the different facets of construction project management. It will provide the many skills you will need to thrive in the industry while providing a greater understanding of the impact of your work and decisions on others.

Training, development and rotations

Designed to provide you with real-world experience, our two-year rotational programme will give you the opportunity to impact some of our nation's most critical infrastructure and construction projects, while also enabling you to determine where your passion lies.

Mentored by experienced industry leaders within Frequency, along with other learning and development activities, we will work closely with you to expand and grow your skills, and develop clear career goals.

In addition to the day-to-day real-world learning you'll take part in during the programme, you'll also take part in learning and development forums focusing on tuning in on skills that will stick with you right through your career.

Salary and Benefits

With a starting salary of $65,000, we offer a competitive salary in addition to five weeks of annual leave, and other great benefits and rewards.

Career Progression

When you join Frequency as a Graduate you aren't just joining for the duration of the programme. Whether it be buildings or infrastructure, project management, controls or procurement, you'll find out what you have a true affinity for through the programme and where you want to focus your career. Once graduated through the programme you'll start in the role of Associate and receive continued training throughout your years with us to develop you throughout your career, allowing you to unleash your potential and grow into more senior positions.

Work-Life Balance

In addition to offering 5 weeks of leave, Frequency fosters a culture of a work schedule that works with you, rather than maintaining a strict 8:30-5 pm every day.

Culture and Vibe

As a business of just under 100 people, no one in Frequency is just a number or a title and location. We're a down-to-earth organisation with a diverse staff base and an office culture that puts no barriers between those of different levels. We put a huge focus on our people, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and a part of the team and welcome anyone in the company to drop by another of our offices if they're in the area for a coffee, tour or after-work drink.

We are looking for motivated graduates who will bring energy and fresh perspectives to our project teams. Our project managers come from a variety of backgrounds, including:

  • Bachelor of Building Sciences
  • Engineering

Graduate Success Stories

  • Graduate stories
I think a vast array of people can do project management. I think what you need to thrive in it is communication and people skills. Those are the most important. Having other administration skills and computer skills is helpful. The technical skills you can always learn, but having the right attitude and soft skills is really important.

This role provides lots of opportunities for collaboration, growth and learning. No two days are the same. There's always something more to learn and I think that goes for people that have been doing this role for years and years.
