Working Hours at NZX

In my role I'm never expected to work more than my scheduled 40 hours, but the start and ending can be flexible, if I have a leave my hour early or something then it's not a massive problem.

My working hours are at the sufficient amount as of today I do not have to do any work outside of my working hours. This implies that NZX maintains a good work-life balance to its employees.

In my team, we need at least two people online from 8:30 to 5:30, I have 1 hour for lunch but there is little flexibility within this. On days that there is a high volume of work I end up working past the 5:30 mark.

Quite flexible. I tend to be in the office 8:15-5:30 but I believe if I needed to change my hours slightly from time to time my manager would be very understanding of this. I don't feel a pressure to be in at a specific time and leave at a specific time unlike old jobs, more that I am completing the work asked upon me and spending around 9 hours at work (including lunch).

Flexibility in hours is very dependent on the team you are in. In an operational role, your hours will be more structured as the market is only open in certain times. In my current role, my hours are more flexible and can be changed based on ad-hoc commitments. The best thing about the work schedule at NZX is that I am not expected to work overtime or on weekends and can switch off from work after hours.

NZX has a strong flexible working culture. The flexibility makes us agile, therefore if anything bad happened to the o_ce e.g. natural disaster, we could still run the market smoothly. It's unlikely that you would ever have to work overtime. Managers here care about you and don't want to overwork you. If tra_c delays you, you might not feel as stressed, because you know that your managers are very understanding. If you have a child, many people at NZX have time to pick up and drop o_ their kids at school.
