Extremely Good - Learning Events all year round which encourage participation from all (and all levels of hierarchy).

There were several training sessions when I started to get me up to speed as well as constant mentoring from more senior employees.

My time as an intern at RCP wasn't as structured as I thought it would be. I was expecting there to be set things for me to do when I got here, and more specific formal training. For my first few weeks there was very little for me to do and I found myself literally sat staring at nothing trying to kill time. I was also hoping to be given exposure to various areas of the business but it has only been project management. The first week was full of meetings being shown how to use internal systems and to meet the other interns and wider team, but after that week there was little in the way of formal training. I felt a bit thrown in the deep end. I would watch tens of training videos to pass time, which sometimes proved helpful, but it wasn't engaging, exciting or fun. A lot of the videos were of little use to me as they were too advanced or not relevant, but I still watched them as well as others as I had nothing else to do.

There were a few days worth of online training. Some of this was extremely helpful, however I do feel some of these could be removed or shortened. The on job training has been super helpful, especially since my colleagues are happy to help. It can be a little difficult as coworkers can be quite busy. Potentially could be helpful to consider adding specific training programmes basic tasks for roles in each sector to allow new staff to have a rough base knowledge of how to do things.

Learning events are provided regularly to keep you updated on industry news and RCP processes. Training is mainly - learning as you go. People assigned with 'better' senior management skills will flourish more than others. There could be more standardized processes. For beginners in the industry and role, it would be beneficial if there was an intro book/learning module gives you a crash course on Project Management and the different roles (though, I believe this is in development).

RCP has a substantial amount of training and development programs, putting on online training events one-two times a week, along with an enormous library of learning and training videos, there videos consists of project management specific, specialist, cultural, technology, environmental, and a vast range of other key skills. Mentoring is immensely encouraged within RCP, along with yearly performance and development reviews ensuring continuous improvement of each employee.

Lots of learning opportunities, for me most of my training was completed on job and through daily tasks.
