Young Petals is a licensed early childhood service catering to a maximum of 30 children. Operating from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays (excluding public holidays), they offer a range of care options, including full-day and sessional care of 3, 4, or 6 hours as needed. They also provide 20 ECE hours for children over 3 and offer WINZ subsidies if required.

The team at Young Petals comprises eight dedicated and motivated staff members, including owner-operator and Centre Manager, Sujata Patel. Meals are provided to all attending children, and the center prides itself on having more than 80% qualified staff, emphasizing the delivery of quality care.

The center is divided into three rooms: the babies' room (0-2 years), the toddler room (2-3.5 years), and the preschool room (3.5-6 years). Young Petals places a strong emphasis on collaboration with parents and whanau, striving to achieve the goals and aspirations set for each child.

Building strong relationships and connections with both children and families is a cornerstone of their philosophy. They believe that every day offers unique opportunities for teaching and learning, guided by unconditional love. Young Petals feels privileged to have the trust of families and finds validation in meaningful interactions with the children, both in challenging and connected moments.

The center values staff who align with their belief system or can incorporate their own beliefs to help the center excel. They aim to create a homely and welcoming atmosphere that sets them apart when families walk through the door.

At Young Petals, they view children as precious, special, unique, and valuable individuals who grow and develop in their own distinctive ways. They emphasize learning through play and exploration, encouraging child-initiated learning with teacher assistance as needed. Their environment is carefully crafted to pique children's interests, curiosity, and overall learning.

Teaching social skills, such as empathy, compassion, and problem-solving, is a core focus, as they believe these skills are crucial for a lifetime. Young Petals is dedicated to nurturing children's love for learning and fostering independence, confidence, and assertiveness, preparing them for a successful journey through life.
